Berkeley

An energetic and culturally diverse university town

Plenty of people travel to Berkeley for a variety of reasons. Whether you’re looking for excellent educational opportunities or room for career or artistic growth, this city along San Francisco Bay’s eastern shores will always welcome you.

Located in Alameda County, Berkeley is a bustling modern metropolis that encompasses a total area of approximately 18 square miles. It’s home to the University of California, Berkeley, the oldest campus in the UC system. Incorporated in April 4, 1878, Berkeley is currently home to a population of roughly 121,140 residents.

Leafy Berkeley is more than its world-famous university, though. Explore the city and you’ll find bustling streets lined with shops (both large-scale retailers and locally-owned businesses), restaurants that serve a variety of cuisines, verdant parks, and thriving art spaces. Although it’s often considered a university town, Deeper within the city and outside its boundaries are miles of outdoor trails and recreation you wouldn’t want to miss. Berkeley is an ideal place to live whether you’re young or young-at-heart.
